This beautiful property is located in the Valley of Portas de Teira (Salinas da Fonte da Bica) which is part of the natural park of the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros.

It is located in a friendly village where you can walk to the village amenities and to the world famous Salinas where there are numerous shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Salinas (salt pans), are located at the foot of the Serra dos Candeeiros Since 1997 the Salinas have been classified as the only indoor sale pans in Portugal and the only ones that are in full operation in Europe. They are thought to have been in existence since 1177. While at the Salinas we can highly recommend a visit to the Churrasqueira Solar do Sal – it is a fabulous chicken restaurant and well worth the visit (they do serve food other than chicken but that is what they are famous for).

The main City of Rio Maior is less than a ten minute drive away. This is a medium sized City in the district of Santarem with a population of approximately 22,000. In Rio Maior there are supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, banks, health centres, dentists, pharmacies and everything else you would expect from a good sized town. There is a wonderful centre park that has a cafe where you can sit and enjoy a luscious coffee of a chilled glass of the local vinho while watching the world go on around you.

Rio Maior also has an excellent sports complex which is considered one of the best in the country and attracts teams and athletes from all over the world. The sports complex incorporate training courses, a swimming pool complex, multi-sports pavilion, tennis courts, and facilities for a variety of other sports. There is an excellent track for running, walking or cycling that skirts the town and goes out as far as the Salinas.

Lisbon airport is a 50 minute drive away.
